Rose all day, anyone?
This hot summer weekend calls for chill-out activities reminiscent of the good old days that we know summer best by –where lounging for hours on end is acceptable simply because of the change in season.
And we are on on board with that.
Below are a handful of outdoor leisures made to feel like you darn well deserve this mini staycation. Check out one, two or all of these local happenings and remember to keep hydrated!
Festival of The Bluegrass
The widely talked about Bluegrass Music Festival is back and better than ever. Happening June 7-10 at the Kentucky Horse Park Campground, this traditional, family-run music festival (established in 1974) welcomes all ages for a long weekend of great live music and all the good vibes that come with it.
Live Music at Talon Winery
If something a bit more mellow, perhaps a bit more sophisticated, is your cup of tea, then head to the gorgeous, wide open green space that Talon Winery gets to call home.
Singer-songwriter Lindsay Beth Harper will be performing at 1 pm Saturday. Grab your wine-o friends and make a day of it at this wholesome, intimate winery equipped with outdoor picnic tables, a pavilion and indoor (thoughtfully stocked) bar and seating.
Wine & Design Terrarium Workshop
Didn’t think to combine your green thumb with your love of wine? Wilson Nurseries is hosting a “Wine & Design Terrarium Workshop” for those looking to add some green to their homes via a burst of vibrant tabletop life.
Grab your tickets here.
Fun fact about Wilson Nurseries if you didn’t already know: Their menu at Sage Garden Cafe was designed with recommendations from local fitness professionals in mind, perhaps deeming this wellness spot as the best clean eating brunch and lunch gathering Lexington has to offer.
Enjoy the music, wine and good company, and let the good times roll! Responsibly, of course.
